Al-Kawthar University, in collaboration with Mr. Shoukat Ali Somoro and the Hamdam Foundation, organized a Mangrove Plantation Drive at the Zero Point Coastal Area, Badin, on 18 August 2026.
More than 60 students took part in the initiative, led by Dr. Shahid Raza Mir, Director Student Services, alongside Ms. Hannah Tariq and Mr. Muhammad Daniyal Javed, Deputy Directors Student Affairs. Together, they planted mangroves along the coastline, turning humanitarian values into meaningful environmental action.
The drive underscored the vital role mangroves play in coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, marine ecosystems, and climate resilience, reinforcing a simple but powerful message: caring for our planet is also caring for humanity.
"Together for Humanity. Together for a Sustainable Pakistan."
